From material, to structure to application, hoses show great flexibility and adaptability. So what types of hoses are there?
From the material point of view, the hose is mainly divided into stainless steel hose, metal hose, corrugated hose, rubber hose, plastic hose, and so on several categories. Stainless steel hose has good flexibility, corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, tensile, waterproof, and other characteristics, it is widely used in automation instrumentation signal wire protection and precision optical ruler sensing line protection. Metal hose is divided into spiral corrugated pipe and annular corrugated pipe, the former has good elasticity and expansion, and the latter is suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure fluid transmission systems because of its high strength and stability.
Corrugated hose is a kind of flexible pressure-resistant pipe fittings, commonly used in liquid transportation systems, used to compensate for the mutual displacement of pipelines or machines, equipment connecting ends, absorbing vibration energy, vibration damping, and muffling the role of sound. It also has good flexibility, lightweight, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, high and low-temperature resistance, and other characteristics. Rubber hose consists of a layer of inner rubber layer, a layer of steel wire braid, and an outer rubber layer, suitable for conveying hydraulic fluids, such as alcohol, fuel oil, lubricating oil, emulsions, and so on. Plastic hoses, on the other hand, are used in water supply piping systems and gas transmission piping systems due to their high elasticity, anti-abrasion, and corrosion resistance.
From the structural point of view, the hose can be divided into single-buckle and double-buckle two kinds. The single-buckle hose structure is relatively simple and suitable for some of the sealing requirements of the occasion, which are not high. The double-buckle hose is used in occasions that need to withstand greater pressure and torque because of its stronger sealing and tensile and torsion resistance, such as drainage systems, shower hoses, and so on.
From the point of view of use, the hose is even more diverse. Threading hose is mainly used in machinery manufacturing, electrical insulation protection, lighting equipment, automobile manufacturing, aviation equipment, subway, train, automation control, and other industries of wire and cable protection. Drainage hose is mainly used for drainage systems, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and so on. The shower hose becomes an important accessory in the shower system because of its strong tensile force and torsion to ensure it does not crack or leak. There are also precision hoses used for precision optical ruler sensing line protection, as well as completely airtight and watertight plastic hoses used for carrier rocket propellant delivery.
Of course, the choice of hose also needs to take into account a variety of factors. For example, for the need to withstand high temperatures and high pressures of the fluid transmission system, one should choose high temperature, high-pressure metal hose or corrugated hose; for the need to often bend and stretch the occasion, should choose a soft, flexible, high elasticity of the corrugated hose or rubber hose; for the need to protect wires and cables of the occasion, it should be chosen to have excellent electrical insulation properties of the threading hose.
Whether from the point of view of material, structure, or use, the hose shows a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. Therefore, when choosing a hose, we need to choose the most suitable type of hose according to the specific use of the environment and requirements to ensure that it can play the best performance of the hose.
